LAST WEEK'S ROUNDUP: A significant day of trade really never
took place last week. Only light scattered business was
reported though out Thursday and late Friday. Southern live
deals were at 110.00-113.00, generally $2-5 lower than the
previous weeks weighted averages. The North saw a light dressed
trade last week at 174.00-180.00, Friday's weighted average in
Nebraska was 175.04, $8 lower than the previous weeks weighted
average for that state. According to the Friday afternoon
Mandatory reports total weekly trade volumes were as follows:
KS 725; NE 14,178; TX 128; CO 0; IA 20,229. As you can see
these totals are very light and will probably be somewhat
larger when summaries are released later this morning.

DTN MORNING COMMENTS: The country is typically quiet this
morning with packers focusing on the collection of new
showlists. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed
until the second half of the week. Beef cutouts are expected to
be mixed with light box movement.

For the week ending June 09, 2018, Imported Beef Passed for
Entry in the U.S. totaled 41,790, 100.96% of the previous week
and 107.23% of the prior 4-week average.
